There are an estimated 2.7 million girls playing rugby globally and in recent years, more young girls have started playing rugby than boys. It is now amongst one of the world’s fastest growing sports for girls. However, rugby is more than just a sport. It is a place where young women can create some of their best memories, meet new people and achieve things they never thought possible.
We have one of the most successful ladies teams in the county and are truly passionate about building on our success by introducing, encouraging and developing young girls in the sport. We are passionate about building our girls section at the club and are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all girls aged to 12-17yrs who would like to play the sport.
From U12s up, coaching is female-centric and our goal is to develop a lifelong love of the sport and all that comes with it. Girls and boys train & play together up to U11s in our Mini's Section (School Years 1-6) and then separate into their respective Youth Sections from U12s (School Year 7 upward).
Training is on a Tuesday evening at Coronation Park from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Please message girlsrugby@chelmsfordrugby.club for more information on how to get involved.

Many of the girls/women's team have started as absolute beginners and are amazing players now, playing at County level.
