Chelmsford Rugby Football Club

The U16s are a team for boys who are in Year 11 at school. We train on Wednesday Evenings from 7:30pm-9pm and play our home fixtures on Sunday mornings from 12:30pm to 3pm

Rugby is played in single gender teams from U12s. Chelmsford RFC is committed to developing both boys and girls' through rugby and our girls' are invited to join the U12-U18 Girls' Group (please see that page for details)

All Chelmsford RFC sessions are led by DBS checked volunteer coaches.

Ensuring that the kids have fun and enjoy playing rugby will always be the main focus of what we do as a club, but as rugby becomes more technical and more physical, the intensity shifts towards helping the players develop the technical, mental, physical and tactical skills required to develop their game. Training is now midweek with a match (or additional training) on a Sunday. This season also sees the introduction of competitive league fixtures and a knockout cup competition.

Parents are not required to stay for training sessions and matches although it is always nice to have you here.

All new players have the opportunity of up to 3 trial sessions before deciding to join the club. Parents are asked to join our Spond Group prior their first session (this is so we have contact details etc in case of emergencies)

When you are ready to join the club, you sent details on how to register with the RFU and purchase your family membership. Family Membership (with one u7 player) for the 24/25 season is £13 per month (or £156 per annum). Playing kit can be purchased from https://www.redsportswear.co.uk/chelmsford-rugby-club
