The 1st XV Men travelled the short distance to newly relegated Rochford for the opening game of the 2024/25 season and come away with a superb 14-45 win.

The Blueboys had 4 players making their senior league debuts for the club today in James Easdown (23/24 Colt), Noah Pyne (2023/24 Colt), Ronan Kelly (Chelmsford Colts recently returned from Exeter University) and Anup Ale.

3 tries from Noah Pyne – who only transitioned from the Chelmsford Colts at the end of last season – marked a fantastic debut for the new Blueboy on the wing. There were also tries from James Gadd and Scott James to cap off a fantastic start of the season for the Chelmsford Men.

Developing and progressing home grown talent has always been important to the club (with 9 out of the 18 players today playing as juniors at the club) but this is something we committed to seeing more of in the years to come! Well done boys!
